Corporate & Social Responsibility

As we’ve grown into an organization comprised of more than 30 affiliated practices across three states and more than 500 dedicated and caring employees, we’ve never forgotten our roots. We strive to provide quality dental care for children and re-invest in our team to do so. Our goal is to bring a smile to the faces of the patients, families, and colleagues that we interact with each day, whether it’s through community outreach, volunteering our skills abroad, or in our neighborhood offices.

Our teams conduct dental presentations and dental screenings across our region in elementary schools, Head Start programs, daycares, preschools, after-school programs, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA’s, local community events, and more. In 2019 alone, we visited more than 350 schools and early learning centers to educate kids about the importance of oral health.

Our presentations cater to the age group we’re presenting to, typically from preschool to 5th grade. Students take part in a half-hour packed with interactive fun-filled games and demonstrations. Our goal is to help kids retain healthy habits that will last a lifetime! Our team uses various visual props, including puppets, giant toothbrushes, and more, to keep the kids engaged and involved in a fun learning experience.

When an opportunity presents itself for our doctors to put their passion for dentistry to work in underserved communities abroad, our doctors jump at the chance. We believe that every child should have access to quality dental care, no matter where they live in the world. In recent years, our doctors volunteered their time and skills to treat both children and adults in Ecuador, Peru, and Zambia. We can’t wait to see where they go next!

Children’s Dental Health proudly partners with local Head Start and Early Head Start programs across Pennsylvania and Delaware to educate children and their families about the importance of pediatric oral health. We provide academic presentations and FREE visual dental screenings. We recognize that many new parents in our communities are unaware of the increased risk of tooth decay in young children and often have limited access to preventive care. We have educated hundreds of Head Start students through our outreach, helping them practice healthy habits for years to come.

Educational outreach in our communities has always been a hallmark of our practices. Though we may not be able to visit students in person right now, we believe that educating children on the importance of their oral health is just as important as the treatment itself.

We’re excited to announce the launch of Children’s Dental Academy, our 100% FREE online oral health education program for educators and parents alike. Our virtual curriculum is full of engaging lessons that are easy to incorporate into your children’s daily agenda, whether it’s in the classroom or the living room. These dental health lessons include:

  • Animated Educational Videos
  • Interactive Lesson Plans for Each Grade Level
  • Downloadable Certificates for Students
  • Hands-On Activities and more…

Children’s Dental Academy is a virtual oral health curriculum with courses and lessons tailored for individual age groups or grade levels. This program educates kids on the importance of good oral health habits through special activities, videos, downloadable worksheets, and much more.

Whether kids are learning at home or in school, we made Children’s Dental Academy to educate kids of all ages on how to take care of their teeth and have fun while they do it.

Healthy smiles start with happy employees! Our Employee Smiles Committee is a cross-functional group that promotes celebrations and company events throughout the year, such as our highly competitive Office Halloween contest and window decorating competition. Most importantly, the Smiles Committee takes the lead in identifying charitable endeavors where our employees can impact their communities. Recent efforts include sending Halloween candy to our troops stationed abroad, a winter coat drive for children, and donating needed items to women’s shelters across our region.
